Obituary: Mrs. Ellen Reed July 1956, The Dallas Morning News

Mrs. Ellen Reed Expires Sunday

  Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock in
tribute to Mrs. Ellen Reed, a resident of Kaufman for the past fifteen years.
Mrs. Reed passed away at the Kaufman Hospital Sunday.

  Billy M. McJunkins of Dallas, minister of the Church of Christ,
officiated.  Interment was made at the Norwegian Cemetery in Van Zandt 
County.

  Active pallbearers were: Ernest Emerson, Levi Emerson, Charles Wise, W.L.
Morriss, Marion Reed, and Alford Campbell.

  Arrangements were directed by the Allan W. Dees Funeral Chapel in Kaufman.

  Mrs. Reed was born in Van Zandt County March 25, 1881.  She lived there
until fifteen years ago when she moved to Kaufman.  She had been a member of
the Church of Christ for many years.

  Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Estelle Collier of Dallas and Mrs. Mary
Ann Lewellan of Kaufman, and three sons, Sam Reed of Van Zandt County, Edward
Reed of Dallas, and Ernest Reed of Kaufman; four grandsons and four great
grandsons.
