Martin, pioneer retired farmer and rancher, who died Thursday, January 14, 1954 following a three week illness, were held Sunday, January 17, 1954 at 2 p.m. in the Sayre Methodist church with Rev. Roy Ward officiating. He was born February 21, 1871 in Tennessee and was married to Lora K. Havely at Terrel, Texas October 29, 1897. They came to Oklahoma in 1900 and homesteaded in the Dempsey community near Grimes, Oklahoma. In 1948 he moved to Sayre when he has made his home. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. lora k. Martin of the home address; two daughters, Mrs. Duwart Johnson, Sweetwater and Mrs. Horace Graham, Sayre; four sons, R.T. (Rounder) Sayre, Marvin H., Richmond, California, W.T. "Bullie" of near Reydon, Junior, Sayre; two sisters, Mrs. Mel Holland, Lone Wolf, Oklahoma, Mrs. Jencks Greer, Denver, Colorado; four brothers, L.D. and John, Donna, Texas, Ben, Terrell, Texas, Don, Cheyenne.
