Wherefore said Petition was filed and the Legal Notices given. Jno C. Mc[Cuykendall-spelling?] Clk. K.Co. Be it remembered that on the (24th day of April AD 1854) [others?] was began and holden in the Town of Kaufman a regular Term of the Hon. County Court Probate in and for the county of Kaufman & State of Texas for the Transaction of Probate business. Present and presiding; Hon. Jno C Mc[Cuykendall -spelling?], Chief Justice James Eagan, Sheriff by his deputy Obed Vanpool, S.E. Noble Clerk. Court was opened in due form by the Sheriff when the following Proceedings were had.— It appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that the Legal Notices have been given on the Petition of Henry Scroggins for the Letters of Administration in the Estate of Newton McBee, deceased. It is therefore ordered by the Court that Letters of Administration issue to said Scroggins on the said Estate of Newton McBee, dec’d. Ordered by the Court that B.M.Ballard, J.W. Terrell and George W. Michell be and they are hereby appointed to make out an inventory, and appraisment of the property belonging to the Estate of Newton McBee. **** End of Page 43: Probate Court Record Minutes. PAGE 45, JUNE 1854 This day comes into court Henry Scroggins, Administrator in the Estate of Newton McBee dec’d, and asked the Court to grant him an order to sell the perishable property belonging to said Estate. The inventory and appraisment of which had this day been returned by the appraisment received by the Court. It is therefore ordered by the Court that Henry Scroggins Administrator, in the Estate of Newton McBee deceased, sell to the highest bidder at his residence on the 10th day of June, vest on a nine month credit the following property to wit; one wagon, 2 yoke of oxen, one rifle, one fifteen shooter, two [Sng?] Chairs, forty four lbs. tobacco.**** End of Page 45: Probate Court Record Minutes. PAGE 97 (July Term AD 1857 Monday 27th) Ordered by the Court that the commissioners appointed at a former term of the court to partition and distribute the property belonging to the Estate of Rebecca Roberts be allowed until the next term of this Court to make their report of said distribution. Now comes into Court Henry Scroggins Administrator of the Estate of W.N. Of the Estate of Wm N. McBee, deceased to appear at the December term of this Court 1858, and show cause why final settlement should not be made of said Estate. *** End of McBee, information on the page of Court Minutes. **** PAGE 144 FEBRUARY 1st, 1859 (January Term Probate Court February 1st 1859) This day comes into Court Henry Scroggins Administrator of the Estate of W. N. McBee, deceased and presents his account receipt of said Estate for final settlement. It is therefore ordered by the Court that legal notices be given by advertising in the Dallas Herald a newspaper printed in the Town of Dallas for four successive weeks requiring all persons to appear at the Court House in the Town of Kaufman on the last Monday in February next 1859, and show cause if anything can, why final settlement should not be made of said Estate. Also that notices be given by posting notices at three different places in this County as the Law directs.
