G. Wendell Crofoot of the Woodlawn Presbyterian Church in Corpus Christi, Sunday, July 29, at 11 a.m. (1951) The sermon will conclude a series on the "Work of the Church", held from Wednesday through Sunday, with different speakers. Tonight (Thursday) the Rev. Frank Walker, minister of the First Presbyterian Church in Uvalde, will preach on the subject, "The Work of the Church in Community Life." Tomorrow evening, the Rev. Henry A. Grubbs, Junction Presbyterian minister, will discuss, "The Work of the Church in Christian Education." Wednesday evening, the Rev. Paul S. Van Dyke, D. D., of San Antonio, spoke on the subject, "The Work of the Church in Missions and Evangelism." The Rev. Lewis L. Wilkins, Rocksprings and Roosevelt pastor, will assist with the services. It was during his ministry as pastor at Junction and Roosevelt that the church building was erected at a cost of approximately $9,000. The Rev. Crofoot started missionary work for the church in the Roosevelt community while he was pastor of the Junction church and built up the first congregation.
