      Emil A. Loeffler is Victorious in Mayoralty Race by 136 Majority;
      Street Closing Proposition Carries

      Four New Aldermen Are Elected; George Cavaness Is Re-elected

 In the mayoralty campaign which terminated Tuesday evening with the closing of the 
polls, Emil A. Loeffler was elected, receiving 215 votes.  His opponent, Mr. Frank
Bissett, received 79 votes, according to election officials.
 Aldermen elected were George Cavaness, 246 votes; B. D. Williams, 266 votes; H. G. 
Hubert, 216 votes; Alton Mason, 260 votes; and E. O. Lowgren, 246 votes.
 John s. Munn, candidate for City Secretary, received 245 votes.  He was not opposed.
 On the eve of election, Mr. Loeffler expressed himself saying, "We want to bury the
hatchet, and work for harmony and the best interests of everyone.  I believe we can
accomplish much good by working together." 
 The proposition for closing 16th street between the two school buildings carried almost
three to one, 196 votes being cast for closing and 54 against.

Tracy and Cowsert Tie in Trap Shoot

 At the shooting at the Junction Gun Club Sunday afternoon, Frank Cowsert and Earl D. Tracy
tied for high score, breaking 19 out of the possible 25.
 N. M. Merritt broke the greatest consecutive number, getting 13 in a row.
 According to Earl Tracy, shoots will be held every Wednesday and Sunday afternoons from
4:30 to 6:30.  Visitors are invited to the grounds.
