Abbott Funeral Servies Held April 5th Funeral Services for Richard Allen (Dick) Abbott, 40, who died Monday, April 5, in a Midland hospital from injuries sustained when a horse fell on him on a ranch where he was employed near Midland, were held the following day in the funeral home chapel with the Methodist minister officiating. Burial was made in Midland. Abbott's horse fell and was dragged over him by another horse which Abbott had roped. He had worked as a cowboy on various ranches in the Midland vicinity since leaving Junction 15 years ago. A son of Mrs. S. F. Abbott and the late Mr. Abbott, he was born in Palo Pinto County, July 28, 1907. Survivors include the widow and two sons, Tom and Jim of Midland, the mother and two brothers, Guy and Arthur, all of Junction, and 4 sisters. Mrs. Ira Stevenson of San Angelo, Miss Velma Abbott, Dallas, and Mrs. Ed Hawkins and Mrs. Mae Elledge, Ozona. ====================================================================
