M. Burt, Sr. Dies Following Lingering Illness Mrs. J. M. Burt, Sr., known to her many intimate friends in Kimble County as Aunt Hulda, died at the home of her son, Matt Burt, on the South Llano Tuesday, April 14, after a lingering illness. In addition to the infirmities of old age she had been suffering many months with cancer. Her son and his family had cared for her tenderly, and friends and neighbors had assisted graciously. Funeral services were conducte by Rev. Louis Pearl and interment was made in the London Cemetery, Wednesday afternoon, April 15, at three o'clock. Mrs. Hulda Pearl Burt was born in Laural County, Kentucky, on December 1, 1854, and moved to Texas with her family when about four years old. She lived in Burnet and Llano counties before moving to Kimble County in 1877, where she lived 65 years. She was married to George Ake in Burnet County 68 years ago, and to this union were born four children, all of whom preceded her. One child died in infancy, but Amos, Jack and Mrs. Zoe McCaleb lived to maturity. Jack Ake died about a year ago. She was married to J. M. Burt, Sr., at London in 1885, and to this union two children were born, one dying in infancy. Mr. Burt died many years ago. Matt Burt is the only child to survive his mother. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild, and one brother, Henry Pearl, Crosscut, Texas. For about 70 years she had been a member of the Church of Christ. She was kind and gentle and during her younger years delighted in rendering service to her neighbors and friends. Her homegoing brings sorrow and sadness to the family, but they have the consolation that she is free of all suffering and pain and is now in her Heavenly home. ======================================================================================
