Death Claims London Pioneer Citizen Dec. 1st

In the homecoming of Mrs. C. G. Hensley at London last Thursday, December 1, 
another pioneer citizen has been called to her heavenly home at the age of 84 
years, four months and 16 days.

Mrs. Hensley was born in Milam County, July 14, 1854. She was married to 
Charles Golden Hensley in February 1869, near Dime Box in Lee County, and to 
this union ten children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband 
and five children. Three sons, Walter Hensley, Mertzon, Texas; P. A. Hensley, 
Hagerman, New Mexico, and E. J. Hensley, Melvin, Texas, and two daughters, 
Mrs. E. T. Ledbetter, San Saba, and Mrs. R. L. McKinney, London, survive. In 
addition to the children, she is also survived by several grandchildren and 
other relatives.

At the age of 13, she was converted at Brenham in Washington County, and 
united with the Christian Church in Lee County at the age of 24. After moving 
to Kimble County, she united with the Baptist Church at Red Creek and 
afterwards moved her membership to London where she was a member at the time 
of her death.

Honorary pallbearers include T.J. Lange, E.I. Cummins, T.J. Wootton, Edgar 
Ivy, Tate Jarvis, F. Cummins, H.A. Summers, Goodall Kothmann, F. Thurber, T.B. 
Pearl, Bill Jones, A.S. Adams, E. Kothmann, Jack Amaon of Abilene; E.D. 
Letbetter and J.W. Smith of San Saba and L. Ellis of Goldthwaite.

Lydia was the daughter of Jeptha Vivon MAY & Kitturah Ann "Kitty" CHANDLER.
