Reeder, 87, of Fort Worth, "mother of Knox City" were conducted Wednesday at the First Christian Church by Rev. L.D. Anderson pastor of the First Christian church of Fort Worth, assisted by Rev. Howard of Knox City. Burial in the Knox City cemetery under the direction of Warren Funeral Home. Mrs. Reeder died Tuesday in Fort Worth after a long illness. She came to Knox City with her husband in 1889, before the town was established. The couple sold the right-of-way for the Orient Railroad through this area and gave 50 acres for the townsite. Mr. Reeder died several years ago, and Mrs. Reeder had lived in Fort Worth for the past 12 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Christian church. Survivors: 3 sons - J.C. and W.A. Reed of Knox City; T.P. Reeder of Vernon; 2 daughters - Mrs. R.G. Vaughn of Fort Worth and Mrs. J.W. Sawyers of Ryan, OK.
