Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at the Gillispie Baptist Church with the Rev. Ross Anderson and the Rev. Carl Shroyer officiating. Burial in Knox City Cemetery, directed by Smith Funeral Home. Mrs. Tackitt was born in Desdemona and moved to Knox County in 1925. She married A.[Andrew] C.[Chester] "Brownie" Tackitt in 1930; he preceded her in death. She had worked as a lunchroom supervisor in the Sunset schools and Munday schools. She was a charter member of the Knox City Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, and served as president, vice president and historian for the Pink Ladies. She was a member of the Gillispie Baptist Church and taught Sunday School classes for many years. Survivors include one son, Merle Tackitt of Granbury; one daughter, JoAnn Maddox of Knox City; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
