P. Biard Died Here Today Funeral to Be Held at Paris Lee Price Biard, president of the Biard Buick Co., of Plainview died at his home, 1404 West Seventh Street, at 5 o’clock this morning after a sudden heart attack which was caused by asthma. When his heart began to give way, a physician was summoned and Mr. Biard passed away shortly after his arrival. He was born March 3, 1879 at Biardstown, Lamar County, Texas, in the town founded by his grandfather in 1846 and named for the Biard family. He was married in 1906 to Miss Toru Sansing of Blossom, Texas, and to this union were born two children: Maxine, who died in 1918 and Ruffin, a son, 19, who lives here. Surviving also are his brothers and sisters: Joe V. Biard, El Paso; Mrs. W. W. Wilson, Dallas [the former Lillie Oliver Biard]; Miss Molly Biard, Dallas; Mrs. J. L. Gardner, Alice [the former Katherine Biard]; W. W. and A. J. Biard of Plainview [William Washington Biard and Albert Johnson Biard]. For twenty years preceding his coming to Plainview, Mr. Biard was a traveling district representative for Star Brand Shoes and for the Brown Shoe Company, with which company he was associated at the time of moving here. In 1921 he went to Amarillo for his health. In 1926, Mr. Biard purchased the Buick agency here from Mrs. McClelland, now Mrs. Ed Thomas. For the last year he has not been active in the operation of the business. Since locating here Mr. Biard has taken an interest in the development of the community and in church, civic and lodge activities. He resigned from the Board of City Development when his health interfered with his work on the board. He was a member of the First Christian Church and a member of the Rotary Club of Plainview and a director of the Retail Credit Association. Mr. Biard was a thirty second degree Mason, a member of Gibraltar Lodge, A. F. A. A. M., Dallas; a member of Hella Temple and of the consistory Scottish Rite, Dallas. The body will leave Plainview for Paris tonight on the Fort Worth & Denver, accompanied by A. J. Biard. Other members of the family left this morning by automobile. Funeral services will be conducted there at the First Christian Church tomorrow afternoon. The body was prepared for burial by the Lindsey Funeral Home.
