All rights reserved http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ***************************************************** A SAD DEATH Hopkins County Echo, Feb. 1920 (Sulphur Springs, Texas) Parties who were in from Chicato Wednesday reported that the wife of a transient man named Jackson was found dead in a wagon when the family awoke in the morning. The wife and two or three children. It was not learned where they were from. They moved into the community about two weeks ago to hire to pick cotton and were camped near town. They slept in their wagon. All of them contracted flu and there was no well person in the camp to wait on the sick. After learning of her death, the people in the neighborhood rendered them assistance. The funeral will be held Thursday at Littlejohn graveyard. (Paris News, reprinted in The Hopkins County Echo) ---
