All rights reserved http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ***************************************************** Mrs. Rosa Tharp - Rites Wednesday Services for Mrs. Rosa Tharp, 80, of 2106 Cornell, will be at 2 p. m. Wednesday in the Northside Church of Christ with Garnie Atkisson, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Rix Funeral Directors. Mrs. Tharp died at 1 a. m. Monday in the Colonial Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Tharp had been a resident of Lubbock since 1952, moving here from Paris, Texas. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Jack Cole of Clovis, N. M., Mrs. Walter Hartley of Snyder, and Mrs. Albert Green of the home; a son, Scott of Vidor; a brother, Joe Bull of Paris; a sister, Mrs. J. C. Flanary of Lubbock; 20 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Charles Smith, Paul Hartman, Bill Ward, Gene Bradford, Charles Haley, and Don Shannon. Notes from Granddaugher: Rosa Tharp was the daughter of James Lafayette Bull and Julia Ann Davis. Both of her parents were from Mississippi. She was married to Scott Jackson Tharp who preceded her in death. She was also the mother of Alma Tharp Weeks, who also preceded her in death. Rosa Tharp was born Dec 1, 1888 and died July of 1969.
