The Lampasas Historical Society placed a Historical marker here in 1993, The first recorded burial in the cemetery was in 1854, and the last was in 1873. Severe flooding seems to be the reason the cemetery was abandoned. It remained neglected for many years, and in the early 1970's while surveying for a new shopping center it was once again discovered. The cemetery is located in a Wal Mart parking lot, and the owners of the shopping mall provide the maintenance for it. In 1978 it was deeded to the City of Lampasas. Jimmy Trussell walked this cemetery in March of 2006, and information was taken from headstone inscriptions.
