It is about ½ mile north of HWY 190 and about 100 yards south of Sulphur Creek at a point near where it joins the Lampasas River. It is difficult to find without a guide. (The Gilbreath Ranch or Max and Bessie Bennett Place) This cemetery is in very rough condition and is overgrown with cedar trees and brush. It is impossible to locate all of the graves in this cemetery. Many graves are marked with field stones. The cemetery appears to be about 100x100 feet in size but due to the rough condition it is difficult to determine. The oldest marked grave that was found, belongs to J.H. Collier, (a victim of vigilantes) who died August 3, 1879. The most recent marked burial belongs to L. Sumrall who died February 28, 1926. The cemetery was near the old Slaughterville stage stop. This cemetery was surveyed on May 14, 1994 by Max Bennett of Copperas Cove and Jeff Jackson of Lampasas. Clemons, Wm.
