Pickett Cemetery, Lampasas County Texas

In 1995, the Lampasas County Historical Commission published Lampasas County 
Cemeteries 1856-1995.  About 150 copies were printed and it is now sold out.  
The computer files used to publish this book were created by Jeff Jackson.  
On February 22, 1999, the Lampasas County Historical Commission was asked for 
their approval to place this material on the Internet.  A motion to that effect

Pickett Cemetery
The cemetery is located a short distance west of Kempner, Texas, just north of 
Highway 190, and just east of the Lampasas River crossing.  The cemetery is 
visible from the highway.  The oldest marked grave in this cemetery belongs to 
Richard C. Pickett who died January 3, 1868.  The most recent grave belongs to 
Mattie Pickett who died March 26, 1973.  The cemetery is surrounded by a chain 
link fence and is about 60 x 40 feet in size.  The cemetery is in a rough and 
neglected condition.  
This cemetery was surveyed by Erin Jackson and Jeff Jackson on January 13, 1994.
