Stanley Chapel Cemetery, Lampasas County Texas In 1995, the Lampasas County Historical Commission published Lampasas County Cemeteries 1856-1995. About 150 copies were printed and it is now sold out. The computer files used to publish this book were created by Jeff Jackson. To get there, take Highway 281 about 10 miles north of Lampasas. Turn west on County Road 48. County Road 48 is the first road north of School Creek. A short distance after leaving Highway 281, a drive way to the cemetery branches off the north side of CR 48. The cemetery is located a short distance up this drive. The cemetery is about ¬ mile west of Highway 281. The earliest marked grave belongs to Eadey Holley, who died September 1864. The most recent marked grave belongs to Daniel W. Wells, who died April 21, 1941. An outlaw named Billy Graham was buried in this cemetery about May 1874. There are a number of unmarked graves in this cemetery. This cemetery went without a fence for a number of years and suffered a great deal of damage from livestock. The cemetery now has a good fence. This cemetery was surveyed August 6, 1988 by Jeff Jackson and updated in the spring of 1993.
