Lampasas August 29, 1901

Received from Honorable Joseph D. Sayers, Governor of Texas, the sum of Seven 
20/100 Dollars in payment of amount due me, Corporal Company A, 2nd Texas 
Volunteer Infantry as compensation for services as such Corporal from the date 
of assembly of said Company at the rendezvous to the date I, as a member of said 
Company, was mustered into the United States service for the war with Spain.
