R. Smith Died Here Last Friday George R. Smith, 75, died at his home here Friday, July 30, at 11:50 a.m. He had been in poor health for a year and serioulsly ill ten days. Funeral services were held at the Primitive Baptist church Saturday, conducted by Ben Reynolds, and interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery. Born in Burnet county March 17, 1873, he married Miss Lottie Edmondson at Kempner after reaching maturity. They soon moved to the Adamsville community and lived there till 1942 when they moved to Lampasas. Survivors are the widow; six sons, Jake, Jim, Dock and Brownie Smith, all of Lampasas, Bennie Smith of Gatesville and Luther Lee Smith of Izoro; three daughters, Mrs. Clyde Lykins of Gatesville, Mrs. A. L. Hart of Comanche and Mrs. Vernon Conerly of Lampasas; several grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren. Pallbearers for the funeral were Clyde Lykins, Ab Hart, Vernon Conerly, all sons-in-law, Tom Hamilton, M. T. Lykins and L. A. Morgan.
