The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ************************************************************************ Lampasas Record -- April 26, 1956 Mrs. Lottie Smith Dies Last Saturday Mrs. Lottie Smith passed away in Rollins-Brook hospital Saturday, April 21, at 3:00 p.m. She had been in poor health for a long time, but critically ill only five days. Mrs. Smith was Lottie Edmondson and was born near Adamsville October 7, 1884. She was married to George Smith in 1897, and eleven children were born of their union. Mr. Smith died about eight years ago. Mrs. Smith had been a Christian since girlhood and a member of the Methodist church at Izoro. Surviving the deceased are six sons, Lavell and Cleo Smith of Lampasas, Bennie Smith of Purmela, Jake Smith of Temple, Jim Smith of Bryan, and Luther Smith of Winters; three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Conerly and Mrs. L. A. Hart of Lampasas, and Mrs. Nadine Lykins of Gatesville, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held in Briggs-Gamel chapel at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, conducted by the Rev. Slate of Waco. Burial was in Oak Hill cemetery. Pallbearers were Keldredge, George Melvin, Pennie and Luther Smith Jr., Ab Hart and Tommy Edmondson.
