The State of Texas County of La Salle Before me, the undersigned authority, on this day personally appeared Mrs. Nancy Yarbrough, who after being by me duly sworn states on oath that she went to Hope, New Mexico, on a visit on September 5th, 1917, and that she returned to Cotulla, in La Salle County, State of Texas, December 30th, 1917, and that at no time while absent from the State of Texas did she consider any other State her place of residence, but was on a visit to New Mexico and that she has now returned to Cotulla, in La Salle County, Texas, where she owns a small home and which is her place of residence. Mrs. Nancy Yarbrough Sworn to and subscridbed before me this 2nd day of January, A.D. 1917. John W. Willson Notary Public La Salle County, Texas Notes: Nancy (White) Yarbrough apparently was visiting her daughter, Tennessee Alivia "Leavie" Yarbrough Blakeney's family, in Hope, Eddy Co., New Mexico. Leavie Yarbrough married John Allen "Pete" Blakeney on August 31, 1903 in Eddy Co., New Mexico. Pete and Leavie Blakeney raised their family in the Hope, Eddy Co., New Mexico area. It is unclear why Nancy Yarbrough is taking this oath.
