Bateman Cemetery

From the intersection of Highway 7 and Highway 79 in Marquez take highway 79
and go south, @3.1 miles will be the intersection of Highway 3. Keep going on
highway 79 another 1.1 miles to a gate on the right side of the road. The
cemetery is about 100 feet off the highway. It is behind trees and underbrush
and can not be seen from the highway. A 4 - foot tall concrete fence that is
about 60 feet square encloses the cemetery. The only entrance to the graves is
a set of concrete steps that go up three steps on the outside of the enclosure
and then three steps down into the burial area.
