Fields, died as November 18, 1858. Transcribed by Joyce McNiel Munson from a copy "Reproduced from the Holdings of the Texas State Archives". # 55 Sarah Fields vs. The State of Texas This day came to be heard the application of Sarah Fields for a Pension from the State of Texas and the said applicant having appeared by her attorney and the State being represented by the County attorney, and it appearing to the Court that due notice as required by law of said application has been given by the Clerk and the Court having heard the evidence and being satisfied that the application states such facts as are required by law to entitle said applicant to a Pension, and was in indigent circumstances at the passage of the Act or when the Act took affect for the relief of the Texas Veterans, and has been in indigent circumstances from that time to the present and that she is in indigent circumstances now. It is therefore ordered adjudged and decreed by the Court that the Clerk of the Court do issue to said applicant, Sarah Fields a Certified Copy of said application and a Certificate of the Court to the truth of the same. The State of Texas Liberty County I, B. F. Cameren Clerk of the County Court of Liberty County, Texas do hereby certify that the above and foregoing is a true and correct copy of a Decree made and entered of record on the Minutes of the County Court of Liberty County, Texas at the February term thereof 1879. Stanley of said County & State my true and lawful Attorneys with full power of substitution for me and in my stead and place to collect, sell and receipt for all and any monies, certificates, pensions and bonds due me and to me from the State of Texas, for and on account of Pensions, bonds and certificates. Hereby ratifying and confirming all that my said Attornies or their substitutes shall lawfully do or cause to be done in the premises. Stanley Petition Sarah Fields applicant vs. The State of Texas In County Court, Liberty County, Texas, February Term 1879. To the Hon. W. W. Perryman, County Judge in and for the said County and State. The petition of Sarah Fields applicant for a pension from the State of Texas respectfully represents that she is a resident of said County and State and that she is the wife and surviving widow of Isaiah S. Fields, now deceased, and is now 88(sic) years of age and that her husband died on the 18th day of November A.D. 1858 and that she has never married since the death of her said husband, Isaiah S. Fields and that her husband, Isaiah S. Fields, was a soldier in the Army of the Republic of Texas in the war of the revolution which separated Texas from Mexico between the commencement of the revolution at Gonzales in 1835 and the first day of January 1837. That he was a member of and served in Captain William Logans company in said Army from the 15th day of September A.D. 1836 to the 11th day of March A.D. 1837. That she is in indigent circumstances now and was in indigent circumstances at the passage of the act or when the act took affect for the relief of Texas veterans and has been in indigent circumstances from that time to the present and that by reason of the premises she is entitled to and annual pension as the surviving widow of the said Isaiah S. Fields now deceased for one hundred and fifty dollars from the State of Texas. Therefore she prays that notice of this application be given and that upon the hearing thereof Your honor cause a certified copy of this application and a Certificate of the Court to the truth of the same to issue to your petitioner to enable her to procure such pension from the State of Texas as duly bound will ever pray.
