A native of Monroe Co. Arkansas, he was born Sept. 13, 1915. He was a member of the 1st Christian Church and was a veteran of WW II. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Etolua Ghormley of St. Louis, Mo.; mother, Mrs. Martha Guthrie of Cleveland; daughters, Miss Janice Kay Ghormley of St. Louis, Mrs. Barbara Wright of Cleveland, Miss Tina Fay Ghormley of St. Louis, Mrs. Joanne Nolden of Cleveland, Miss Bonnie Jean Ghormley of St. Louis and Mrs. Patricia Ann Freels of San Jose, Calif.; sons, Jerome Charles Ghormley of St. Louis and Walton Ghormley of Darlington, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Funeral services were 2 p.m Fri., Oct. 17 from the Pace-Stancil Funeral Chapel with Mr. Don Alberts, pastor West Side Church of Christ officiating. Pallbearers were Lloyd F. Boy, William W. Kornegay, Jesse L. DeSpain, W. M. Purswell, Warren R. Ghormley and L.A. Haltom. Burial was in Romayor City Cemetery with Pace-Stancil Funeral Home of Cleveland directing all services.
