Limestone Co. TX. - OBIT: Banks Burrow Submitted by Anna Penny alp@vvm.com Banks Burrow, 1896 Groesbeck Journal Issue, July 30, 1896(paper was dated on Thursday) Tragic Death at Fair Grounds Early Monday morning, Banks Burrow, the 14 year old son of Maj. B. M. Burrow, deaceased, in company with his older brother, Ganri(or d)and other boys were training young colts at the fair grounds. Banks was riding at full speed with the other riders slightly behind. The horse that Banks rode was not able to turn the short curves, and he stumbled and fell, throwing his rider to the ground with terrible force. The inertia of the animal sent him rolling over the unfortunate boy, brusing and crushing him in a shocking manner. Poor Banks was carried home bleeding and unconscious, and in a few hours he was dead. The body was buried in the Catholic Cemetery in Corsicana the following day. ==================================================================== USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, data may be used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
