This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: An Brown abrown@isys.ca ==================================================================== Jerry Louis BOWER - October 28, 1951 Little Jerry Louis BOWER Buried in Prairie Hill Monday Afternoon Friends and relatives of little Jerry Louis BOWER were shocked when he suddenly passed aay Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. in a Mexia hospital. Jerry was visiting in the home of his grandparents at Prairie Hill when he suddenly became ill. He was taken to a Mexia hospital and was found to have pneumonia. He was treated there for a week and was expected to be brought home in a few days. In making his early morning call Sunday, the doctor stopped by Jerry's room and found him seemingly improving and in high spirits, but before he left his room he became suddenly ill and died in spite of all efforts made by the doctor and nurses. Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. BOWER of Waco; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Bower, Sr. of Prairie Hill; Mrs. Nela LAYTON of Coolidge, and a host of other relatives. Pallbearers were: Herschel Russell, Lindsey Moore, Virgil Lowrie and Max Carpenter. Funeral services were held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Bower, Sr., Monday afternoon with internment in the Prairie Hill cemetery. The McElroy Funeral Home were in chart of burial arrangements.
