Roy L. Smith and Rev. G. P. Comer officiating, burial in Oakwood cemetery. Active pallbearers were M.B. Hodges, E.G. Franke, A.S. Cunningham, J. Howell, R.W. Weddell and George Pendergrast. Mr. McKenzie was formerly a bookkeeper for Texas Fireproof Storage Company and Citizens National Bank. He had been connected with the Texas state highway department in the accounting and maintenance department for several years. A veteran of the World War, he was stationed in Panama during that time. He was born at Oletha. Surviving are his widow; a son, John L. McKenzie, of Austin; a grandson, Ronald James McKenzie, of Austin; two brothers, Henry of Altus, Okla., and Callie of Dawson; four sisters, Mrs. A. C. Goodrich of Coolidge, Mrs. H. A. Roloff of Dawson, Mesdames R. A. Martin and I. Shields, both of Oletha.
