The State of Texas  )

County of Llano     )  Know all men by these presents that I, Allen Gentry of the County

and State of Texas, have this day made, constituted and do by these presents make,

constitute and appoint William Haynie of the County of Llano and State of Texas my true

and lawful attorney in fact, and I do hereby empower my said attorney in fact to apply to

the Paymaster of Lieutenant Gideon P. Cowan's Company of Texas Mounted Rangers

known as the Llano County Minute Men, or any person authorized to pay off said

company, and there draw the money or pay or scrip for my services as private of the Llano

Company of Minute Men commanded by Lieut. Gideon P. Cowan which services was

rendered in the year A. D. 1860.  And I do further empower my said attorney in fact to

sign in ___ with my name all such vouchers and receipts and every other instrument which

may be necessary to carry out the object of this agency, and I do hereby ratify each and

every act of my said attorney in fact legally don (sp) or to be don (sp) by him in the

premises above mentioned, and his acts shall bind me as fully as if I were present and

acting for myself or in anywise could do if I were acting for myself in my own proper

person.  In testimony whereof I have signed, sealed and delivered this writen (sp)

instrument in the Town of Llano on the 5th day of December 1860.

Gentry signed and seald (sp) and delivered this instrumentin my presents.

     Office in Llano on the 5th day of December A.D. 1860.
