The second item is an obituary from the LLANO - IRON CITY NEWS, PUBLISHED

EVERY THURSDAY.  No date is printed in the copy I have, but it has a

hand-written date of 1890 added, with a typed note: "This is the obituary

for Sarah Hines.  She died in Llano Texas.  She was the great grandmother

of C.R. (Ralph) Weeks."  



Died.  Mrs. Sarah Hines, aged 78 years, died on the 15th instant at the

home of her son-in-law, Elder H.P. Alsup.  Mrs. Hines had been for thirty

years a great sufferer from asthma, but she passed away as calmly as a

child falling asleep.  For twenty-five years she had been a consistent

member of the Christian church, and died in the full triumph of an

unquestioning faith in the atoning blood of Christ.  To her death had no

terrors but was rather a blessing, opening the gates of the celestial city

to the imprisoned soul.

Mrs. Hines was born in Kentucky, but about 40 years ago, then a widow, she

came to Texas with her eight children, three sons and five daughters, and

by her unaided exertions raised them to be reputable men and women.  Full

of years and of grace she has ended her earthly pilgrimage, leaving behind

her an example of moral worth and Christian fortitude as a priceless

heirloom to her descendants and friends.
