All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ Llano, TX, news, December 4, 1924 A DEAN one of Llano county's oldest citizens, died at his home near Baby Head at 4:30 o'clock on last Thursday morning at the age of 80 years. He would have been 81 on the 29th of next June. Mr.. DEAN had been in good health and his death came very suddenly. He was born in Mississippi, but had lived in Llano County for the past 59 years and one of its most worthy citizens. He was well known and highly respected by all who knew him and his acquaintance extended to all parts of this and the adjoining counties. Mr. DEAN is survived by his wife, four sons, W.W., R.R., S.L. and C.E. DEAN and two daughters, Mrs. Will FLEMING and Mrs. C.E. HOUSTON. The remains were laid to rest in the Cherokee cemetery, Thursday afternoon at 4:20 o'clock in the presence of a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends. In the death of A. DEAN, Llano County gives up another of its oldest citizens who did much in the early days toward the advancement of better conditions in this section of our state and it is to such men as he that the present generation owes much for the hundreds of privileges which we are enjoying today. The news joins with friends in extending sympathy to the bereaved family, and may they find comfort in the sweet thought that all is well with their loved one and that is now free from every pain and care of this world.
