The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net ************************************************************************* Surname: Williams, Bardin, Keng, Forehand, Garrett, Walker Pioneer Dies - Mrs. Mary Augusta Kuykendall was born at Camden, Arkansas, April 2, 1875; departed this life November 28, 1950. She, with her father, S.E. Williams, moved to Llano, Texas when she was ten years of age. In 1894, she was united in marriage to William J. Kuykendall. To this union were born six children. Three are still living, namely Roy C. Kuykendall, Mrs. Vera Griffin of Springer, N.M; Wm. Fred Kuykendall of Denver, Colo. Mr. and Mrs. Kuykendall were home-stead pioneers having filed a claim at Abbott in 1915 where they lived until the past three years when they made their home in Springer. Mrs. Kuykendall has been in poor health for some time. She was a faithful member of the Primitive Baptist church. Funeral services were held at the New Salem church at Abbott and were conducted by Errington mortuary, Wed. p.m. 29 of Nov. Officiating was the Elder Kenneth Martin of Slaton, Texas assisted by Elder J.W. Goforth of Clovis, New Mexico and Rev. J.W. Ransdell of Springer. Her remains were laid to rest in the Johnson cemetery near Abbott. There also are three sons who have preceded her in death. She will be missed but not forgotten. Besides her husband, she leaves the three children and their mates, 10 grand children and 14 great-grandchildren, a brother 90 years of age in Llano, Texas, two younger sisters, Mrs. Lon Talley and Mrs. Maude Harmon, both of San Angelo, Texas, and a host of friends. She was loved by all who knew her. ===================================================================================
