Williams Dies at Home Christmas Day - John W. Williams, 91, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mary Walker, in Llano Christmas day, 1951. Funeral services were held at the Buttery Funeral home, Wednesday, December 26, with burial in the Kuykendall cemetery at Cherokee. The Rev. Jasper Chambers, Primitive Baptist minister of Lampasas, officiated. He was born in Camden, Arkansas, April 23, 1860. He had lived in Llano, San Saba and Brown counties since coming to Texas when 22 years old. He has made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Walker, in Llano for the last 10 years. Mr. Williams and Alice M. Bardin were married at La Grange, November 25, 1885. They had six sons and six daughters. Mrs. Williams and two sons preceded him in death. He was a deacon of the Primitive Baptist church, of which he had been a member for 52 years. He leaves his daughters, Mrs. Walker; and Mrs. W.F. Keng of Llano, Mrs. Ernie Forehand of Fort Worth, Mrs. S. F. Daugherty of Cherokee, Mrs. A.F. Griffin of Bryan and Mrs. C.H. Shook of Beeville; four sons, Jesse E. Williams of Fort Worth, James f. Williams of Hamilton, David A. Williams of San Saba and Arthur C. Williams of Amarillo; two sisters, Mrs. Maude Harmon and mrs. Lon Talley of San Angelo, all of whom were present. He also leaves 25 grandchildren and 18 great grand children. Pallbearers were his grandsons, Robert Lee Walker, J.T. (Fuzzy) Walker, Bill Walker, Cecil Walker, Raymond Walker and James Walker, all sons of Mrs. Mary Walker. ========================================================================================
