Henry Jenkins was a cowboy who was staying in a local hotel, was taken ill and
died.  He was about 32 years old and was the first person buried in the city of
Lubbock cemetery.  He was born around 1859 or 1860 and died March 10, 1892.  His
grave can be found in the southeast corner of block 8 in the cemetery at the
intersection of Iris and Hibiscus streets.
