Tuck 19 March 2002 ************************************************************************ Robert Blunt Hodge died in Oxford, Georgia, July 30, 1864, son of Berry and Susan S. Hodge of Marion County, Texas. Blunt joined the Confederate Army October 10, 1861. He was then only 17 years old, but proved a brave and efficient soldier until he recieved the dreadful wound in Atlanta, Georiga, July 6, 1864, which resulted in his death. He wa shot through the lower jaw bone, the whole of which was afterwards amputated. But the surgeon's skill could not save that precious life.
