Graveside funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Tuesday, June 29, 2004 at the Evergreen Cemetery Chapel in Stanton with Rev. Leandro Gonzales, retired Baptist minister officiating. He was born on August 5, 1924, in Robstown, Texas and married Francisca Garcia on January 26, 1949 in Stanton. Mr. Balerio had lived in Midland since 1986. He had farmed in the Lenorah and Tarzan communities before moving to Odessa and Midland. He loved to go fishing. He was a member of Primera Iglesia Bautista of Odessa. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Francisca Balerio of Midland; three sons, Augustine Balerio of Midland, Freddy Balerio of Houston, and Alejandro Balerio of Corpus Christi; one daughter, Lisa Guzman of Odessa; three sisters, Sofia Silva of Odessa, Frances Garcia and Olga Gonzales both of Rotan; six granddaughters, Veronica Vega of Odessa, Maria Frances Balerio of Midland, Venisha Baca of Odessa, Leslie Balerio of Corpus Christi, Edna Balerio of Midland, Lori Balerio of Corpus Christi; five great grandchildren, Rene and Cassandra Vega and Isaac, Israel, and Ivan Baca all of Odessa.
