Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, November 11, 2003 at the First United Methodist Church in Stanton with Rev. Gene Weinette, pastor,officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. He was born on September 13, 1930, in Stanton and married Nelwayne Motley on February 3, 1957, she preceded him in death on September 23, 1987. He then married Alta Mae Straub on March 3, 1993 in Stanton, Texas. Eddie was a lifetime resident of Stanton. He farmed most of his life and enjoyed it. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. Mr. Cook served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was also a member of The American Legion Post Number 429. Survivors include his wife, Alta Mae Cook of Stanton; three sons and two daughters in law, Mark Cook of Stanton, Kyle and Melody Cook of Big Spring, Kenneth and Cheryl Cook of Stanton; two step sons and one step daughter-in- law, Claude Straub of Houston and Bill and Terry Straub of San Antonio; four grandchildren, Kevin Cook, Keith Cook, Kayla Cook, Karyn Cook; six step- grandchildren, Justin and Ragan Darden, Clint, Craig, Jason and Seth Straub; one sister, Corene Manning of Stanton; three brothers, Fred Cook of Littlefield, Jack Cook and Wayne Cook both of Stanton. He was preceded in death by one brother, Johnny Cook and two sisters, Eva Mae Cook and Flora Dee Wilson. The family suggets memorials made to the First United Methodist Church Stanton, P. O.
