Name: Joe Jack Cook , 76 Died: October 17, 2004, in Odessa, Texas *Media Obituary* Jack Cook, 76, of Stanton, died on Sunday, October 17, 2004, in an Odessa hospice house. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 20, 2004 at the Downtown Church of Christ in Stanton with Van Pendergrass pastor, and J. D. Kelly officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton. The family will receive friends Tuesday, from 6:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home. He was born on April 1, 1928, in Stanton, Texas and married Mary Beazer on July 14, 1951. She preceded him in death on July 11, 1998. He then married Patsy Odom on August 22, 2002. He graduated from Stanton High School and attended Texas Tech. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He farmed in the Stanton area, owned Cook's Exxon and Cook's Automotive until he retired in November 2003. Mr. Cook was an active member of Downtown Church of Christ and served two terms on the Stanton City Council. Survivors include his wife, Patsy Cook of Stanton; his son and daughter-in- law, Lee and Sherry Cook of Stanton; his two daughters and sons-in-law, Jackie and Homer Crim of Garden City, Kansas and Judy and Danny Fryar of Stanton; one sister, Corene Manning of Stanton; two brothers, Fred Cook of Littlefield and Wayne Cook of Stanton; 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.
