"Tillie" Treadway, 83, of Hamilton, passed away Jan. 21, 2008, at the Hamilton General Hospital. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at First Baptist Church of Hamilton with the Rev. Keith Felton officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Riley Funeral Home of Hamilton. Tillie Treadway was born Dec. 6, 1924, in Stanton, Texas, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Tivis Rebel and Sarah M. Hovey Abbott. She married C. Joe Treadway. He preceded her in death in 1977. Tillie was a member of the Hamilton First Baptist Church. She served her church and her community for over 40 years as a Sunday school teacher. She was an active member of the Eastern Star, VFW Auxiliary and the Shive Grange. Tillie was known mostly for her band "Tillie and the boys" which entertained people in the area for many years. Tillie owned and operated the local hearing aid store where she was a hearing aid specialist and helped many people in the community with difficulty hearing. Tillie loved music, entertaining, and more especially, serving her lord and her community. Survivors include three children, Robert Tivis Treadway and his wife, Vicki of Gatesville, Cindy Treadway Bankston and her husband, Curtis of Gatesville, Gail Raibourn Weaver and her husband, Johnny of Gatesville, and Jerry Nailer of Oregon; two sisters, Henri Beth Hogg of Sanderson, and Mamie Lee Harris of Ft. Stockton; six grandchildren, Robert Treadway Jr. of Gatesville, Shannon Treadway of Gatesville, Laura Edwards of Houston, Chad Treadway and his wife, Amanda of Rockport, Jennifer Treadway of Jonesboro, and Seanna Bennett and her husband, Koy of Hamilton; five great-grandchildren, Brittany Diserens, Landon Diserens, Kaitlyn Edwards, Shelby Bankston and Matti Bankston; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make donations to the Hamilton First Baptist Church for the Mrs. Tillie's Place Fund, Or the donators charity of choice.
