BOLTON The Gentry homestead was about 6 miles east of Rochelle, Texas, in McCulloch County. This family cemetery is located on top of a rolling hill between the Deep Creek county road and Deep Creek. It is located about 200 yards east of the county road and about 200 yards west of Deep Creek. The county road is now a paved farm road 2822. Elias Marion Gentry and his wife, Melissa Jane Lowery Gentry, laid off this cemetery when their son, Jim Gentry, died in 1901. He was the husband of Sally Ann Chitwood and the father of two children, John and George E. Gentry. Sally later married "Bill" William Lee Wilborn. Elias Marion died in 1909 and was buried in the family cemetery. About 19 years later, in 1928, his wife, Jane, died and was buried beside him on the south side. The rest of the Gentry family (two daughters, one of which married a Myers and the other one who married an Anderson) are buried in the Rochelle Cemetery and Cowboy Cemetery in McCulloch County, Texas. The Gentry Cemetery is about 100 yards (or steps) northeast of the old wood framed house of Henry Anderson, a grandson. ALVIN L.
