She passed away at the home of her mother, Mrs. E. M. Glenn, 1423 Barron street. The funderal will take place this Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock from the John F. Rowe residence, 326 North Fourteenth street, with Dr. J. M. Dawson, pastor of the First Baptist church, officiating, interment to be made in Oakwood. Active pallbearers are: Paul G. Granbury, G. P. Pylant, John H. Edwards, B. C. Yarbrough, Bruce E. Jackson and Marion Caskey. Honorary: Judge W. H. Jenkins, Dr. S. P. Brooks, Dr. T. D. Brooks, Prof. E. H. Sparkman, Dr. J. T. Harrington, Dr. Sims Allen, Dr. W. A. Bruce and former Gov. Pat M. Neff. Born in Mt. Calm, Miss Glenn was reared in Waco. She was a graduate of the Waco high school, and her studies in Baylor were completed last June. She was a member of the First Baptist church. Crown Sent to Dallas for Burial The body of M. Crown, who died in Marlin, Monday night, was shipped to Dallas by the Puckett Undertaking company, Wednesday morning, and the funeral will take place in Dallas at five Wednesday afternoon. M. Jones Young, 52 years old, died Tuesday night at 8 o'clock at his home on the Orand place, South Twelfth street road. He had been ill for some time. The body will be taken in Compton's motor hearse to Robinson, where funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 in the Robinson Baptist church, with Rev. C. E. Poe, officiating. Interment will be made in the Robinson cemetery. Active pallbearers are: Sam Orand, Lin Orand, W. R. McAdams, B. P. Sharp, F. M. Holley and O. L. Royal. Honorary: Ed Sturgis, J. K. Rose, Dr. W. S. He is survived by five daughters and one son, Mrs. Pearle Dack, Waco; Misses Cecile, Virgie May, Ernestine and Mildred Young and Carl Young, who live with their father. He also has three brothers and one sister, Will Young, Fort Worth; Adolph and Owen Young, and Miss Lum Young, Florence, Ala. *************************** Mary Kay Snell mksnell@arn.net *************************** WACO TIMES-HERALD, Waco, Texas, Thursday, August 13, 1925 Funeral Thursday of Mrs. Ella Addison, Texas Half Century Illness of three weeks resulted in the death in a local sanitarium Wednesday afternoon of Mrs. Ella Addison, 68 years old. She lived at 1217 James street. The funeral will take place Thursday afternoon at 5 o'clock from the home of Mrs. Addison's niece, Mrs. Della Williams, 1318 James street. Rev. C. E. Poe will officiate, and interment will be made in Park Lawn. Active pallbearers are: N. J. Bozeman, Charles Betross, C. R. Walker, W. L. Crook, V. V. Damon and Rev. J. R. Wiggs. Honorary pallbearers are: W. H. Gohagen, Dr. J. T. Harrington, William Brandon, George Ewing, Joe Christian and Rev. J. L. Walker. Born in Alabama, Mrs. Addison had been a resident of Texas for the greater part of her life, having lived in this state for the last 50 years, 15 years of that time in Waco. She was a most sincere and devout member of the Baptist church since early childhood. Her membership was in the Seventh and James Street church. Mrs. Addison was beloved by a wide circle of friends and acquaintances. She is survived by her husband, W. F. L. Harris, Killed By Train, Is Buried Thursday, Falls County The funeral of T. L. Harris, 27 years old, killed by a freight train near Brownwood last Monday afternoon, took place this Thursday afternoon, interment being made in Buel cemetery, near Marlin, where the body was taken in the motor hearse of the Compton Undertaking company. The body of Mr. Harris reached Satin early Thursday. Mr. Harris lived at Satin at one time, and one of his brothers, B. H. M. Cole Times-Herald Special. BELTON, Texas, Aug. 21--Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at Killeen, 20 miles west of Belton for Mrs. R. M. Cole, 66, a pioneer settler of Bell county. For 65 years she had made her home at Killeen. Her six sons-in-law were pallbearers, viz.: H. N. Law and Sam Rancier, Killeen; Roy Levy, Chilton; Allen Slawson, Killeen; N. Hamner, Eastland, and Dr. J. M. Murphy, Temple. Mrs. Cole is survived by her husband and 11 children. W. M. Rogers to Be Buried Friday At Groesbeck W. M. Rogers of Groesbeck 46 years old, died in a local sanitarium, Thursday afternoon. He had been ill for some time. The body was shipped Thursday night by the Compton Undertaking company to Groesbeck, where the funeral will take place Friday afternoon at 5, from the family residence, with Revs. Cornelius and D. W. Martin officiating. Interment will be made in the Groesbeck cemetery. He was a member of the Odd Fellows. Besides his wife, Mr. Rogers is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lillian Hines and Miss Hazel Rogers, and one son, Wm. Rogers, all of Groesbeck. W. Uzzell, well known resident of Hill county, living near West, died Thursday night in a local hospital. He was 58 years old. While definite arrangements for the funeral have not yet been made, the body will be taken in Compton's motor hearse to Vaughn, where interment will be made. Surviving Mr. Uzzell are his wife, seven sons, M. H., F. R., G. E. and J. D. Uzzell, all of Waco, and Bonnie, Dale and Eugene of West; five daughters, Mrs. O. A. Cisco and Mrs. C. E. Scott of Waco, and Mrs. T. H. Earle, Taylor; Misses Jessie and Rosie Uzzell of West; four brothers, Robert and Hatton Uzzell of Anona, Texas; Jack Uzzell of Wilson, Okla., and J. T. Uzzell of Abbott; two sisters, Mrs. David Peak, Anona, and Mrs. Jess Reinhardt, Wilson, Okla., and his mother, Mrs. Mary Uzzell, Anona. WISDOM TOOTH CAUSES DEATH L. E. Ponder, Mgr. Texas Telephone Co., Dies from Blood Poisoning An infected wisdom tooth, followed by blood poison, resulted in the death at 12:50 Friday morning of L. E. Ponder, 30 years old, local manager of the Texas Telephone company. Mr. Ponder lived at 1201 Jefferson street. He had been ill only a short time, the tooth having been extracted two weeks ago. Mr. Ponder was taken to the sanitarium Thursday afternoon, a drainage operation being resorted to late Thursday, in an effort to save his life, the poison having affected his face. Funeral services will be conducted in the Wilkirson and Hatch mortuary chapel at 10 o'clock Saturday morning, with Rev. B. M. Cloyd of the Baptist Seminary, Fort Worth, officiating. The body will be sent to Hillsboro for burial, which will take place Saturday afternoon about 2 o'clock, with the Masons in charge at the grave. Born and reared in Bryan, Mr. Ponder was an ex-student of A. & M. college. He had benn connected with the Texas Telephone company here for the last five years, and he had been manager of the company since May 1 of this year. His advancement with the Texas Telephone company was rapid and substantial by reason of the ability and efficiency he manifested. Mr. Ponder was an ex-service man, having served in the infantry, with the rank of first lieutenant. He was with the American forces overseas. His parents died when he was quite young, and he was reared by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Cox of Bryan. In Waco, Mr. Ponder was known to and beloved by all of his business associates and by many friends and acquaintances. He had the confidence and esteem of his superior officers of the Texas Telephone company and the love and affection of all those over whom he had supervision. Mr. Ponder was a young man of sterling character, endearing himself to all who came in contact with him. He was a member of George N. Denton lodge of Masons. Besides his wife, Mrs. Ponder is survived by one sister, Mrs. C. The body was viewed by Justice of the Peace R. B. Stanford. Mr. Brown had been ill for the last few days. The body will be taken in Compton's motor hearse to Marlin, where the funeral will take place Sunday afternoon. Surviving Mr. Brown are his wife, one son, Charles W. Brown, his mother, Mrs. Lottie Brown, Marlin; three brothers, G. W. Brown, Marlin; D. E. Heat Prostration Results in Death of Young Cotton Picker Overheat, or heat prostration, is ascribed as the cause of the death of Jesus Hernandez, 17 years old. He died at his home, 517 River street, South Waco, Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock. So far as known, this is the first death to result from sunstroke in Waco so far this summer. The boy had been employed as a cotton picker.
