Martin of Lampassas, father of Mrs. J. R. (Cowboy) Kendrick, 2823 Sanger Ave., who died at 1 a.m. Tuesday at his home, were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Lampassas. Mr. Martin had been in the ranch business near Lampassas for a number of years. Mrs. Kendrick left Waco early Tuesday for the Martin home. MISS SADIE KOLBER Funeral rites for Miss Sadie Kolber who died Monday at 7 p.m. in a Dallas Hospital, were held in Dallas at 10 a.m. Wednesday , after which the body was sent to Waco for services at Hebrew Rest cemetery, Rabbi Wolfe Macht officiating. Active pallbearers will be L.L. Gorin, Monte Lawrence, Harry Wood, Lewis Lipshitz, Harry Efron and Morris Wood. Honorary pallbearers were E.P. Simmons, Eli Sanger, Rodney Horner, Moe Novich, E.B. Jones, Jim Hays, all of Dallas and John Maxwell of Waco. WILLIAM J. MURPHY Funeral services for William Jackson Murphy, pioneer of Prairie Hill, who died Tuesday at 2 p.m. in a Waco hospital, were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Prairie Hill Methodist church. Mr. Murphy was a member of the Methodist church, the Masonic Lodge and the W.O.W. Survivors include the widow, one daughter, Mrs. Robert Hargrove, and three sons, C.L., C.E. and J.H. Murphy. Littlepage funeral home of Mart had charge. PAUL S. FOGLEMAN Funeral services for Paul Silas Fogleman, 41, of 1109 North Tenth street, who was brushed to death while working on a road construction job near Clifton bout 9 a.m. Tuesday, were help at Compton's chapel at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Rev. M. L. Rhodes officiating, burial in Oakwood cemetery. Mr. Fogleman was trying to repair an elevated grading machine when he was pinned and crushed between a conveyor belt and roller. He was employed by Brown-Root company on the project, a new highway being built between Valley Mills and Clifton. Pallbearers were J.G. Hardcastle, Lawrence Freeman, Ed Spracklin, Albert Bruner, D.R. Price, S.L. Hardcastle, D.K. Stokes and R. Hannah. Mr. Fogleman was born in Buffalo, Texas and had lived in Waco for the past 12 years. He had lived in the West community for 45 years. Funeral services will be held from West Catholic church at 10 a.m. Friday, Rev. E.J. Polack officiating, burial in Catholic cemetery. Surviving are his widow; seven daughters, Mrs. E.A. Kolar of West, Mrs. John Kopecky of Bryan; Mrs. P.H. Rogers of Moody; Mrs. Vernon Patterson of West; Mrs. E.J. Sparks of Bruceville; Misses Celia and Martha Sulak of West; three sons, Daniel of Penelope, Albert J. of West, and August A. of San Antonio; three sisters, Mrs. Cecilia Cepak of West; Mrs. John Bezdek of West; six brothers L. Adcock,66, of route 4, who died in a local hospital at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, will be held from Compton's chapel at 2 p.m. Friday, Rev. A. Myers and Rev. J.W. Mr. Adcock had lived in Waco for the past 32 years. JOHN WESLEY WALKER Funeral services for John Wesley Walker, 85, who died at 10:55 p.m. Wednesday at his home, 1625 South Tenth street, were held at Compton's chapel at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Rev Walter Anthony officiating. Interment at Oakwood cemetery. Surviving are his widow; two sons, W.J. Walker, Chicago; H.D. Walker of Hillsboro; seven daughters, Mrs. C.M. McFarland, Waco [at this point it becomes unreadable], Mrs. J.A. Sapp, Waco; Miss Allene Walker of Waco, and Mrs. H.O. Clark of Waco. Mr. Walker was born in Natchitoches, La. and had lived in Waco for the past 18 years. He was a member of the Methodist church and the Masonic Lodge for the last 65 years. Pallbearers were Rhea Gilland, Charles Mayr, A.C. McKinney, B.H. Walters, J.K. Arenson and Ralph Wolf. CHESTER LEE CURTIS Funeral services were held Tuesday in Memphis, Tenn., for Chester Lee Curtis, brother of Mrs. G.B. Crinchlow of Waco. Mr. Curtis was a World War veteran and was decorated by General Foch for bravery. He died of a heart ailment. He had been a employee of the Commercial-Appeal mailing room for 15 years. He was born and educated in Birmingham and was working in the New York Times mailing room when he joined the Marine corps June 20, 1917. He was a private in the 20th company. Fifth marines, Second Division, and was wounded in action three times. Mr. Curtis was a Catholic, a member of the mailers union, a branch of the International Typographical union. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Reba Curtis; his mother, Mrs. M.A. Curtis, and the sister in Waco. MRS. JIM EICHELBERGER Mrs. Jim Eichelberger, 60 died at her home in China Spring at 6:48 a.m. Thursday.Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church at China Spring at 3 p.m., Dr Arthur Stout and Rev. (Fritz) Patzke, 61, veteran of a half century of service, first with Wells Fargo and then with the Railway Express company in Waco, died at his home, 2507 Bosque Boulevard, at 2:15 a.m. Friday, after a long illness. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday from Clark's drawing room, Rev. Chet Henson officiating, burial in Oakwood cemetery. Surviving Mr. Patzke are his widower, the former Miss Emma Bieker of Bremond; a daughter, Miss Melba Patzke; a son, Fred; three sisters, Miss Augusta Patzke of Waco; Mrs. W.R. Brackney, 63, died at his home, 1401 Connor avenue at 3:50 a.m. Tuesday, leaving 78 survivors to mourn his death. TOM HERRON Mrs. Emory Spencer, 2215 Summer avenue, Monday recieved word of the death of her sister, Mrs. Tom Herron in New Orleans. Burial will be in Hillsboro cemetery at 4 p.m. Tuesday. Mrs. Herron was a former resident of Hillsboro. R.M. JORDAN R.M. Jordan, 66, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W.A. Stephens in Fort Worth Monday morning. The body will be returned here by Wilkirson-Hatch funeral directors and funeral services will be held at the Wilkirson-Hatch chapel at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, Dr. Walter Anthony officiating, burial in Rosemound cemetery. HARTHCOCK Thomas Britton Harthcock, brother of Mrs. J.C. Crider of McGregor, formerly of Robinson, died at his home in Harper Saturday after an illness of several months. Funeral services were held from the First Baptist church of Chilton at 4 p.m. Monday, burial Chilton cemetery. Pallbearers were the following nephews: Willie Ed Crider, George T. Redding, Charles Langford, Frank Bowers, Harold Gray, Bud Cantrell. Born in Zeiglersville, Miss., on Sept. 11, 1873, Mr. Harthcock moved to Texas with his parents at the age of nine and settled in Chilton. He married Jodie Ruth Langford March 30, 1899. Surviving are his widow and five children, W. S. Harthcock of Odessa, C.B. Harthcock of Dallas, L.M. Harthcock of San Antonio, R.G. Harthcock of Harper and Mrs. W.J. FLAMES VICTIM LAID IN GRAVE Funeral Services are held for Mrs. Georgia Keeton, Who succumbs to Burns in a Local Hospital Mrs. Georgia Keeton, 59, of West, who sustained severe burns several weeks ago when her night clothes caught on fire, died Sunday morning in a Waco sanitarium, where doctors had used all their resources in an effort to graft skin over the burned portion of her body. For a while it was thought that Mrs. Keeton had an even chance to recover. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock from the Presbyterian church at West. Burial was in Whiterock cemetery. Rev. L.R. Byrd officiated. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Clarence Allen of Corpus Christie, a granddaughter and five sisters; Mrs. Lela Bradley of Waco, Mrs. H.C. Jameson of Oklahoma, Mrs. D.I. Smith of Childress, Mrs. J.M. Smith of Rotan and Mrs. Nannie Elmick of Kemp; two brothers, J.L. Jones of Ross., and G.B. Jones of Meridian. Brackney, 63, died at his home, 1401 Connor avenue at 3:50 a.m. Tuesday, leaving 78 survivors to mourn his death. Funeral services are to be conducted at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday from Faith tabernacle, Rev. A.C. Lane officiating, interment in Rosemound cemetery, Wilkirson-Hatch in charge. Surviving Mr. Brackney are his widow, seven daughters, Mrs. Lilie Hickman and Mrs. Myrtle Attaway, Diball, Texas; Mrs. Ella Norris, Glasgow, Ky; Mrs. Gladys McDaniel, Frederick, Okla.; Mrs. Mattie Stevenson, Flatt, Texas; and Mrs. Pearl Simmons of Waco; four brothers, Will, Lessly and Tom, Sanger and Ernest, Altus, Okla.; three sisters, Mrs. Neila Fort and Mrs. Maggie Fort of Sanger; and Mrs. Ethel Nickle, Sulphur Springs; 58 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. ANNABEL M'CRUM Funeral services for Mrs. Annabel McCrum, 49, of 2900 Colcord avenue, who died in a Waco hospital at 5 a.m. Sunday were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Columbus avenue Baptist Church, Rev. H.H. Hargrove officiating, burial in Oakwood cemetery. Clark's in charge. MRS. L. C. ALBRIGHT Mrs. L.C. Albright, 71, of 2326 Clay avenue, died at 8 a.m. Tuesday in a local hospital. Funeral services in charge of Compton's are pending. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ollie Jost and Mrs. Roy Rickett both of Waco; five sons, George, Joe, Jake, Walter, and Tuft Harper, all of Waco; one sister, Mrs. Jim Lenox of Robinson. Mrs. Albright was born in Missouri, came to Texas as a child and had lived in Waco since that time. WILLIAM T. R. M. JORDAN Funeral services for R.M. Jordan, 66, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W.A. Stephens, in Fort Worth, Monday, were held at the Wilkirson-Hatch chapel at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, Dr. Walter Anthony officiating, burial in Rosemound cemetery. Mr. Jordan moved to Fort Worth a short while ago. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. W. A. Stephens of Fort Worth; one brother, Ernest Jordan, of Fort Worth; and one sister, Mrs. George Lane of Greenville; and one grandchild. Pallbearers were Hunter Mann, G.W. Preddy, Dr. R.B. Alexander, O.F. Hamilton, L.F. Blackman and G.O. Urbantke.
