McCowan of Beaumont, and his wife, Mrs. Velma Mires McCowan, who were killed instantly in an automobile accident near Waco Saturday night, were sent to Beaumont Sunday afternoon. Both were 38 years old. Funeral services will be held there, probably Tuesday. They are survived by three daughters, Bobby Lee, Doris, and Ann McCowan and a son, Allen McCowan all of Beaumont. Mr. McCowan is also survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Enos Sylvester McCowan of China, Texas, and five brothers. Mrs. McCowan is also survived by her grandmother, Mrs. D.E. He received his wings and was commissioned at Moore Field, Mission, Texas, Oct. 1, 1943, went overseas Feb. 19, 1944 and received the Purple Heart and Air Medal with Oak Leaf Clusters.
