Last rites for Fred Acree, 67, who died late Tuesday night in a hospital, were to be held in the First Baptist Church at McGregor at 3pm today with Rev. Ed Laux officiating, burial in McGregor cemetery. Mr. Acree, a pioneer central Texas real estate man and collector of Texiana, is survived by his widow, Mrs. Annie Byrd Acree of Moody' a son, Fred Acree Jr of Washington, D.C. who was at his bedside; two daughters, Mrs. John M. Barcus of Arlington, VA and Mrs. Charles L. Behrns of Alice; a sister, Mrs. Jonnie Grahame of Liverpool, England and a brother, Solomon Acree of Washington, D.C. Born in Texas, he resided all his life in Moody, McGregor and Waco, coming to this city in 1926. He conducted real estate operations all over Texas.
