The Waco Daily Examiner, Vol.15, No. 130, 
A TRIBUTE OF AFFECTION
     Mrs. Sophia McCann was born in North Carolina, April 4, 1805, moved to 
Lowdnes City, Mississippi in 1834. Died May 8, 1882. She was a member of the 
Presbyterian church. Having known Mre. McCann for more than twenty years, the 
writer can bear witness that she posessed all the Christian graces and 
preminently those of meekness, patience and charity. In the home circle she 
was the centre of love for husband and childten.She was hospitable to the 
stranger, charitable to the needy and ever ready to administer with 
cheerfulness to her friends. Such a life, as she led, will surely receive the 
welcome, "Well done, thou good and faitful servant."
