Waco Dr. 772-7440 Additional Comments: (Max Feltner did not show up for the funeral. Duane Mayfield Thomas, brother-in- law of Walter, replaced him as pallbearer).Walter was killed by a drunk driver on hiway 6 outside of Waco going toward Riesel. The other driver was driving on the wrong side of a four lane divided highway with her lights off. She was killed instantly and they said Walter died on the way to the hospital. We were living in Hallsburg at the time. Walter played football and ran track in high school at Riesel, Texas. Walter never saw a stranger, everyone was a future friend. He was a friend to all and would help anyone. He was a very handsome young man and had lots of girlfriends but the boys never resented him or were jealous. He had something special that draw people to him-----both male and female. He was truly an Angel on Earth. He left us too soon but we were so blessed to have him for 18 years.
