According to several sources, the house was built circa 1855. It has served as the priest's house for St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. There was an article in the Waco Tribune-Herald on April 19, 2015 which included the Davis home: "Slipping away: In search of Waco’s most endangered historic buildings."
