The parlors had been tastefully decorated with ferns and palms for the occasion and a number of friends in Waco and Moody were present to witness the ceremony. To the accompaniment of piano and violin by Misses Lacy and Gay the song, "Without Thee" was sweetly rendered by Miss Baade. Then to Lohengrin's processional the wedding party entered and took place before Rev. F. C. McConnell. First came the matron of honor, Mrs. Jno S. Patterson of Moody, in a beautiful embroidered net over green messaline with black picture hat and she carried a cluster of white chrysanthemums. Then the maid of honor, Miss Laura Kuykendall of Moody, in spangled net over pink satin, with large pink hat and carrying an arm bouquet of pink chrysanthemums. Then the bride on the arm of her brother, Mr. Fred Acree of Moody. The bride was beautifully gowned in white satin trimmed with pearls and point lace with court train, the veil being caught up with a wreath of orange blossoms and wearing as an only ornament a pearl brooch, the gift of the groom. Meeting the groom at the improvised altar with his best man and oldest friend, Mr. John S. Patterson of Moody, the couple were soon united as man and wife. Present were Mrs. E.V. Acree, Mrs. Fred Acree, mother and sister[in-law] of the bride. Mrs. Acree was gowned i heliotrope satin and Mrs. Fred Acree wore lavender silk trimmed in handmade lace. Quite a number of intimate Waco Friends of the family witnessed this (clipping torn) ..F. Acree, professor...the Johns Hopkins ....was impossible for Dr. Acree to be present on this occasion.
