Talbert v. the United States et al. Deposition of R. S. Taylor, for claimant, taken at Fowlerton, Tex., on the 11th day of November, A.D. 1914. Claimants counsel, Harry Peyton, Esq.; defendants counsel, John A. Hendricks, Esq. R. S. TAYLOR, being first duly sworn, states: I am 40 years old; Fowlerton, Tex., is my post office. I married a niece of W. W. Talbert and in that way am interested, as my wife is one of the heirs. Direction examination: Question. Did you know W. W. Talbert in his lifetime? Answer. Yes, sir; I worked for him for 12 years, and up to about a year before he died. Question. Do you know, as a matter of family history, where W. W. Talbert was born? Answer. I always understood he came from Alabama and was born in Alabama. His relatives from Alabama visited him. I have heard him say he was born in Alabama and left there when a small boy. His sister, who is the grandmother of my wife, visited him, and she came from Alabama or Georgia.
