It is on the left side of the road as you are driving south. It is located in the far northeast part of Medina County. The headstones are transcribed by Janice Hagen Davis in memory of my father who is buried at this Masonic Cemetery. This info was obtained and transcribed from Mar. 2002 until July 2002. The gravesite is enclosed in cement, about the size of the casket,like a half circle coming out of the ground.'LITTLE JERRY' is engraved in the cement and the lettering is filled in with small gravel. Calk, Tom May 18, 1939 This stone is a piece of cement like a handmade block. The lettering is handwritten "Tom Calk died May 18,1939" no other info on it. "FATHER" is above James, and "MOTHER" is above Donie "ASLEEP IN JESUS" is engraved on the bottom of the face of the stone. Williamson, Donie Mar. 31, 1869 Sept 29, 1942 Springall, William J. May 10, 1865 June 17, 1956 This is a double headstone. With William and S. Elizabeth. Springall, S. Elizabeth Mar. 6, 1866 Dec. 8, 1936 "SPRINGALL" is between the names of William and S. Elizabeth. "IN LOVING MEMORY" is below the info on the face. "SPRINGALL" is on the back. On the site for S. Elizabeth the plot is enclosed in cement about the size of the casket. It is like a half circle coming out of the ground. Engraved is the "WIFE" and the lettering is filled with small gravel. Williamson, William F. June 7, 1904 June 26, 1925 The same cement half circle is on this plot where the casket is below. "OUR SON" is engraved on it with the gravel in the lettering. At the bottom of the headstone is engraved "IN LOVING MEMORY". This is all of the headstones in the Williamson/Springall large plot. Secrest, Kathryn March 19, 1927 "BABY" is engraved above Kathryn. Secrest, William V. Jan 3, 1898 Sept. 23, 1964 This is a military grave marker. A Cross with a circle around it is above the name. Below William V. Secrest is engraved "TEXAS', the next row has S2 USNR. The next row has 'WORLD WAR II". Then the dates. Pilgrim, Julia M. 1896 The only date is 1896. There is an Eastern Star emblem on the marker. Dec. 29, 1860 Jan. 23, 1942 cement 1/2 circle coming out of the ground, the size of the casket with "Father" engraved in the cement. "There shall be no night there" is engraved on the lower part of the stone. Johnson, J. F. June 17, 1870 Mar. 21, 1920 This is a tall stone. On the top of the marker is "Founder of Lytle High School". There is a rose on the top left corner on the face of the marker. "In memory of Prof. J. F. Johnson June 17, 1870 Mar. 21, 1920 Gone but not forgotten" is engraved on the headstone. There is a small marker the size of a brick at the foot of the grave with J. F. G. engraved on it. Guynes, J. T. MD Oct. 13, 1883 July 21, 1940 Touchstone, Stacie L. Sept 17, 1891 Sept 28, 1925 There is an Eastern Star emblem on the top, face of the headstone. "Stacie L. Touchstone wife of Silas L. Turner Sept 17, 1891 Sept 28, 1925 " "Her memory is blessed" is engraved on this stone. This is a very unique large family plot. There is a marble type curbing surrounding the plot. On the foot of the curbing is lettering "J. A. W." is in one space. "H. C. W." is in another space, "ED. M. W." is in another, and " J. L. W.' is engraved. These are the initials 4 of the persons buried here. The curbing is really pretty. Wells, Oliver Newton Apr. 14, 1883 Sept. 2, 1884 Wells, John Alfred July 15, 1836 Jan. 30, 1920 This is a double stone with "Wells" in the center of the names. Wells. H. Catherine July 15, 1849 May 9, 1934 emblem between the names. It is a circle with UCV on the top inside of the circle, 186 1-65 on the bottom inside of the circle. Inside the circle is a flag engraved. "No better parents ever lived" is engraved at the bottom of the headstone. "Father" is above John Alfred and "Mother" is above H. Catherine. On the back of this headstone is a drawing of a longhorn cow with the brand J2 on it. On the back of the stone is " I have raised plenty of longhorn cattle on the open range and later the improved breeds on my home ranch." This is a very large marker. Wells, Ed. M Oct, 11, 1881 Mar. 28, 1958 This is a double headstone. "Wells" is in the center of the stone. A Masonic emblem is above Ed's name and an Eastern Star emblem is above Julia's Wells, Julia Louise Apr. 15, 1889 Jan. 29, 1976 name. This is another unique headstone, in the same plot as the one above. There is a drawing of a cow with the brand of 96 on it. In cursive writing is "This is my kind of cattle and I have raised my share of them." There is a large signature of Ed M Wells 96 on the back John Alfred Wells" Infant son of Mr. & Mrs. Ed. M. Wells, Born & Died Nov. 27, 1931 Gates, A. F. April 3, 1846 May 24, 1918 This is a very large double headstone on a very large base. On the very top of the stone is the letters "Gates". Gates, M. A. Apr. 18, 1856 Dec. 8, 1918 the A. F. Gates is the letters "FATHER" and the Masonic emblem. Above M. A. Gates is the letters "MOTHER" and an Eastern Star emblem.the words "The lost to sight to memory dear" is engraved on the bottom of the stone. There is a small marble "brick" at the foot of A. F. Gates that have A. F. G. on it. Gates, Ellis E. (Ted) Jan. 5, 1920 July 6, 1946 There is a emblem with "Woodmen of the World Memorial" on the outside of the circle and "Dumt Acet Clamat" on the inside of the circle. Sept 27, 1876 Mar. 25, 1957 George with "Woodmen of the World Memorial" inscribed on the outside and 'Dum Tacet Clamat" on the inside. George has a Masonic emblem below his info. Above Minerva is a circle. Inscribed on the outside of the circle is "IN Memoriam", and a shield inside of the circle. This is a Woodmen of the World emblem. Aug. 5, 1912 Engraved on the bottom of the stone is "WHOSOEVER LIVETH AND BELIEVETH IN ME SHALL NEVER DIE" Martin, Mary Frances John 11-26 McMillan, Robert B. 04,24,1928 04,18,2000 This is a small metal marker from the Hurley Funeral Home.end of family plot. This is a large family plot. There is curbing around the entire plot. It is about 12 inches tall and is made of cement.It is fashioned to resemble logs. Very nice. HESTER This is a very large headstone in the middle of the plot. Hester, Martin K. Jan 3, 1901 Oct. 17, 1934 This name is engraved on the base of the very large HESTER marker. There is a cement half circle coming out of the ground with "Martin" engraved in it. Behind the stone is three graves. There is a half circle of cement the size of a grave, coming out of the ground with "WIFE" engraved in it. Then there is a flat cement, the size of a grave. Then there is another half circle of cement,the size of a grave with "FRANK" engraved on it. On back of the large stone is the following information. ,Frank M. Mar. 19, 1899 Nov. 12, 1929 This is where the 'Frank" name is on the large stone. Maggie L. Feb. 10, 1871 Dec. 22, 1930 This is above the half cement with "Wife" engraved on it. Augustus E.
