I wish every man woman and child in the southern confederacy could here him it was one of the moast eloquent and patrioticl speeches I ever heard I was agreeably surprised to learn after the speech that he is a Methodist preacher Magruder promised us yesterday to hang all the traitors in Tex that he could catch if the army would sustain him in the ??? which we promist him to do I wrote to you from Washington co which I suppose you have received I was then well but have with a bad cough for five or six days I an ???? now and will soon get entirely well ??? I ??? able to do duty all the time but have ??? with my head and lungs I hope this ??? you all well ??? you must excuse ??? writing as I have to do it knee I will ??? letters and write the oftener I di not know ??? long we will remain here long enough ??? a letter from you inclosed you will find ??? to Mr Wash ??? which you will send to her you must answer this immediately so that I can get it I have nothing more at preasant to write to you ciss the children for me and tell them we will not be parted always comfort them and yourself and it will all be well your affectionate husband W.P.
